Job Title: Inventory and Pricing Specialist
Position Summary
The focus of the Inventory Control Specialist is on overall inventory accuracy, minimizing quantity on hand discrepancies, driving down overall inventory shrink and overall pricing accuracy and analysis. All while driving the overall inventory counting process across our stores through accountability and bringing teams together. Ensuring that pricing is consistent with the Big Box stores and applied appropriately across the Hartville Hardware locations. This position encourages innovative thinking and continuous improvement in order to make a significant impact on our operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Invoice Processing
- Assist in setting overall physical inventory plan across locations
- Ensure execution of physical inventory plan for each location
- Develop systems to ensure accuracy of QOH with the goal of driving down overall inventory shrinkage
- Work with Division Managers and sales staff on location procedure for updating item locations yearly for each location.
- Work collaboratively with buyers and staff to identify and then resolve any and all problems that may negatively impact accurate inventory levels.
- Hold teams accountable and dive into details and problem areas
- Accurately records number data and presents inventory status reports quarterly or when requested
Pricing
- Run/review reports to compare pricing against big box retailers, identifying opportunities to differentiate and optimize product pricing.
- Develop and adjust pricing strategies to ensure competitiveness while maintaining healthy profit margins across all product lines.
- Collaborate with finance to align pricing with budgets, revenue goals and cost structures, ensuring financial accuracy and sustainability.
- Partner with sales to create accurate, competitive pricing tailored for contractors and builders, including bulk discounts or custom rates.
- Monitor pricing trends and competitor promotions, recommending adjustments or promotions to stay ahead in the market.
- Ensure pricing accuracy across enhancing customer trust.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must understand and be able to demonstrate high level 'retail based' inventory control standards and practices.
- Capable of thinking critically and analytically
- Willing and able to work cooperatively with management and coworkers
- Willing and able to learn and adapt from mistakes
- Able to meet deadlines
- Must enjoy working with numbers
- Must be mid to high-level proficient with Microsoft Excel while being familiar enough to concatenate, run lookup functions and create pivot tables.
