Job Title: Outdoor Power and Tool Parts Team Member
Department: Parts Department
Position Overview:
As an Outdoor Power and Tools Parts Team Member, you will be responsible for assisting customers with their outdoor power equipment and tools parts needs. This role involves providing expert advice on parts selection, processing transactions, and ensuring a positive customer experience within the outdoor power and tools department. This position will also serve our technicians with relevant parts and follow up of outstanding parts orders.
Responsibilities:

General Duties:
- Greet and assist customers in the outdoor power and tools department with a friendly and knowledgeable demeanor.
- Provide expert advice on parts selection for outdoor power equipment, tools, and related products.
- Looks up parts using various vendor software to find the part that our customers need for their tool/unit
- Orders and checks in parts and sales orders
- Creates special orders for retail customers’ and technicians’ orders
- Looks up and orders all parts in a timely fashion
- Delivers parts to technicians
- Assists and stocks retail products - belts, filters, oil, etc.
- Follows up weekly with special order parts and attachments to verify orders are placed and available from vendor
- Maintains and keeps all location codes for area of responsibility
- Answers phone in timely manner for incoming parts inquiries
- Assists Outdoor Power sales when possible
- Parts Identification:
- Use technical manuals, diagrams, and catalog information to identify and locate the correct parts for customers.
- Assist customers in finding replacement parts for their specific models.
- Sales and Transaction Processing:
- Process parts sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
- Recommend additional parts or accessories to complement customers' purchases.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels of outdoor power and tools parts and communicate with the inventory control team for restocking.
- Conduct regular checks for damaged or defective parts and initiate necessary actions.
- Technical Assistance:
- Provide technical information on parts compatibility, installation, and maintenance.
- Assist customers in troubleshooting issues with their outdoor power equipment or tools.
- Customer Service:
- Address customer inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with the service and repair team to facilitate the repair process for customers.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other team members, including sales team members, service technicians, and management.
- Collaborate with vendors and manufacturers to stay informed about new parts and product developments.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail sales, preferably in outdoor power equipment or tools.
- Strong knowledge of outdoor power equipment and tools parts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet customer needs.
- Basic computer skills for point-of-sale transactions and parts lookup.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. repetitively
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Job Particulars
Part-time averaging 28 hours weekly - more in the busy season (Spring) and less during the slower months (Winter)
Must be willing to work Saturdays and Evenings until 7pm as needed. Store hours are 8am-7pm Monday-Friday and 8am-6pm on Saturday.
