Position Summary

As a Paint Sales Specialist, you will be the go-to expert for paint and finishing solutions, helping customers find the right products, colors, and tools for their projects. You’ll work closely with homeowners, contractors, and DIYers, offering expert advice, color-matching assistance, and exceptional service to enhance their experience at Hartville Hardware.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers in the paint department with a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Serves as an area expert and provides knowledgeable recommendations on paint types, finishes, stains, and related products.
• Assist with custom color matching and mixing using computerized tinting systems.
• Maintain an organized and visually appealing department through proper stocking, facing, and merchandising.
• Stay current on product knowledge and industry trends to better serve customers.
• Operate tinting equipment and troubleshoot basic technical issues.
• Assist with special orders and communicate effectively with vendors when necessary.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
• Can float to assist other areas in the retail store as called upon by management.
• Any other tasks as assigned by management.
• Follow all safety procedures and store policies.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in paint sales, hardware retail, or related field preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of color theory, paint types, and application tools.
• Ability to operate computerized tinting equipment (training provided if needed).
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
