Position Summary
As a Warehouse Team Member at Hartville Hardware, you will play an essential part of our operations, responsible for efficiently handling and organizing merchandise in the warehouse and receiving areas. Your role will involve receiving, storing, and preparing products for distribution, ensuring that our inventory is well-maintained and ready to meet guest demands. This position requires attention to detail, the ability to handle physical tasks, and a commitment to ensuring a seamless flow of products from delivery to the sales floor. The position will also involve handling all outgoing UPS shipments, returns and defective goods.
Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inspection:
- Receive incoming shipments, inspecting for accuracy and damages.
- Record and report discrepancies or damages to the warehouse supervisor.
- Verify quantities by checking the quantities of items against packing slips and purchase orders to ensure the correct products and amounts have been received.
Inventory Management:
- Assist in transferring received inventory to the appropriate storage areas or sales floor, ensuring products are organized for easy access.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist in periodic physical inventory checks.
- Accurately input inventory data into the store’s inventory management system to maintain up-to-date product counts.
- Ensure products are labeled correctly and stored according to their department, with clear identification of SKU numbers and product details.
Equipment Operation:
- Safely operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain equipment in good working condition.
Safety, Cleanliness and Organization:
- Follow Safety Protocols: Adhere to all safety regulations when handling products, operating equipment, and performing physical tasks.
- Keep Receiving Area Clean: Maintain a clean and organized receiving area, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of products.
- Operate Equipment Safely: Use material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and responsibly.
Team Support and Collaboration
- Teamwork: Work with other receiving and sales team members to ensure the proper flow of goods and accurate stock levels throughout the store.
- Communicate with Management: Provide updates to supervisors and management on shipment arrivals, discrepancies, or delays, and communicate any immediate needs regarding stock levels or product organization.
- Assist in the order pickup area as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Attention to Detail: Ability to carefully inspect products, verify order quantities, and ensure accuracy in all receiving processes.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, and perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Organization Skills: Strong organizational skills, with the ability to efficiently store and retrieve products, manage stock levels, and maintain an orderly workspace.
- Team-Oriented: Ability to collaborate with team members, including sales, inventory, and management, to ensure smooth store operations.
- Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in using inventory systems and entering data into the store’s management software.
- Forklift and Equipment Operation: Previous experience with material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks is a plus, or the willingness to learn.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfort with using point-of-sale systems and other technology to process orders and payments.

- Position will involve working Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
