The Job
A CNC Machine Tool Application Engineer contributes to the success of Hartwig by working hand-in-hand with our Sales Engineers to provide support and be a technical resource to ensure satisfaction. The customers we serve are in a variety of industries and rely on the us to provide the best manufacturing solutions and support to the CNC machine tool industry. This position is based in Salt Lake City, UT and supports customers in the surrounding western territory area.
Main responsibilities of this full-time position include:
- Evaluate manufacturing processes and recommending industry-leading solutions
- Develop and test alternative processing methods
- Perform time studies for process improvement recommendations
- Oversee CNC machine tool installations
- Conduct research and assist in presenting proposals
- Perform on-site programming and machine operation training
- Facilitate demonstrations by setting up and programming the machine tools
The Skills
Individuals who ideally fit this role should meet the following qualifications:
- Two- or four-year degree in manufacturing engineering
- Experience in machining process development, project management and CNC programming
- Okuma machine programming experience preferred
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and application of machine tool products, options and functions
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills, such as collaboration, listening, respect and work ethic
