You will support individuals learn new skills - cooking, shopping, banking etc. and become active members in their community. You will help run the program and make sure that the program is compliant with the applicable regulations and laws (including Department of Medical Assistance Services and Centers of Medicare and Medicaid). Above all, you will help assure the individuals we support receive the highest quality of care possible while enjoying fun and meaningful lives.
Some of your Job Responsibilities Include:
- Providing care/support associates with all aspects of care, including: feeding, hygiene, medication, ambulation, range of motion, communication and community activities.
- Responsible for promptly reporting incidents, or evidence of abuse or violation of individuals rights.
- Assisting and escorting service recipients to appointments such as physician, activities, shopping and others.
- Participating in the development and evaluation of targeted skill areas for individual service plans.
- Promoting individual's rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and their individuality according to person centered thinking.
- Responding appropriately and accordingly to policies to emergency situations.
- Maintaining skills necessary to safely operate equipment and machines used in the performance of the job, including: Mechanical Lifts, adjustable chairs/beds, scales and vehicles.
- Modeling desirable behaviors for service recipients and coworkers.
Positions Available Include:
Direct Support Professionals - Full Time, Part Time & Relief (PRN)
Required Work Experience/Education:
Minimum of 6 months in health related field.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Basic Knowledge of human behavior and intellectual disabilities.
Valid drivers license in VA, DC, or MD and safe driving record.
Ability to carry out tasks independently, given verbal/written instructions.
