Responsibilities and Duties:
- Works from verbal and written instructions as provided by supervisor or another authorized person.
- Moves lumber to all locations in the Warehouse.
- Painting logos on bundles as needed per work instructions.
- Verify bundles on Shipment match Bill of Lading.
- Loading bundles for Shipments on flat beds and Containers.
- Maintain tow motor (forklift) in good operation condition.
- Cleans work area as required.
- Observes good housekeeping practices and prescribed safety precautions.
Qualifications and Required Skills:
- Shipping Experience a plus.
- Ability to work in a face paced environment.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3 months of previous tow motor (forklift) work experience is desired.
- Frequently lifts 25-30 lbs. occasionally lifts boards in excess of 50 lbs. Lifting accomplished anywhere from ground to shoulder level or occasionally above the head.
- Ability to climb on and off the forklift throughout the day.
- Attention to detail and patience are crucial.
- Previous experience with chain saws, tape measures, hand tools, air and electric powered tools are a plus.
