The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Inc. (HMFP), and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) are seeking an academic leader to serve in the following exciting position. Applicants should hold a current appointment at Harvard Medical School to be eligible to apply.
This position is being developed among the organizations as part of a proposed broader collaboration relationship to provide world-leading coordinated and integrated cancer care within the region, and is a critical clinical and academic component of the planned collaboration.
The successful candidate for the position of Division Chief of the newly formed Division of Cancer Pathology in the Department of Pathology at BIDMC will hold an appointment at the rank of Professor / Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School (HMS), commensurate with experience and approvals. The employer for the position is HMFP. Following regulatory approval, the successful candidate will also serve as Chief of Oncologic Pathology at DFCI.
This position is responsible for developing, communicating, and driving the vision, mission, and goals of the program, and for oversight of the clinical operations, quality and safety programs, basic, translational, and clinical research, education programs, and faculty development and advancement missions.
The DFCI Chief of Oncologic Pathology will be responsible for the recruitment, retention, and ongoing evaluation of all professional staff for credentialing purposes.
The candidate should have a demonstrated record as a mentor and as a teacher, national recognition for clinical and research accomplishments, and possess exceptional leadership, managerial, and collaborative skills. Ideally, this individual would be a proven leader with an international reputation in Cancer Pathology who can lead a complex and successful enterprise to even higher levels of excellence.
