What are the responsibilities and job description for the IP Trademark Paralegal position at Harvard Resource Solutions LLC?
Harvard Resource Solutions is seeking an IP Trademark Paralegal for our law firm client in Chicago on a direct hire basis.
Hybrid Schedule: 4 days in office for the first 6 months. 3 days in the office, 2 days at home is standard firm policy.
Duties:
- Handle U.S. trademark filings and maintenance electronically with the USPTO, including applications, responses, extensions, and renewals.
- Conduct trademark searches using third-party platforms and common law.
- Communicate with clients on trademark matters.
- Manage WIPO filings for International Registrations.
- Coordinate with foreign counsel for trademark matters abroad.
- Prepare ownership and name change documents.
- Conduct trademark portfolio due diligence.
- Assist with customs registrations and renewals.
- Estimate costs for new filings.
- Support trademark enforcement actions, including oppositions and cease & desist letters.
- Monitor attorney dockets and manage deadlines.
- Record billable hours accurately.
- Adapt to departmental needs and take initiative.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience in U.S. and foreign trademark prosecution preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree or significant relevant experience.
- Proficient in Word, Excel, and adaptable to new software.
- Skilled in trademark research tools and databases.
- Familiarity with PATTSY or equivalent docketing software.
- Strong communication skills for internal and external interactions.
- Ability to multitask independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive problem solver with discretion for confidential information.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and strong writing skills.
