Payroll Accountant

Summary

Harvard Resource Solutions is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to join their client’s finance team. The company provides a supportive and collaborative work environment, excellent financial systems, and comprehensive training to ensure success in the role.

Onsite, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Responsibilities of the Accountant:

• Payroll Management: Oversee the full payroll process through a payroll service, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursement.
• Benefits Administration: Manage employee benefits, including enrollment, updates, and coordination with providers to ensure employees receive the appropriate coverage.
• Financial Transactions & Deposits: Process and reconcile deposits while maintaining accurate records for financial tracking and audits.
• Month-End Close: Prepare and finalize month-end closing procedures, ensuring all financial statements and records are accurate and complete.
• Work Papers & Financial Reporting: Maintain work papers for financial audits, prepare various financial reports, and assist in budgeting and forecasting as needed.
• Compliance & Process Improvement: Ensure all accounting processes comply with relevant regulations and company policies while identifying opportunities for process enhancements.

Qualifications of the Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role with a focus on payroll, benefits, and financial reporting.
• Prior experience in corporate finance or project accounting is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to financial management.
