Position Description
The Foreign Language teacher is responsible for delivering the language acquisition course for selected grades, offering the best possible linguistic and academic educational experience to students.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, initiate and guide the units of study that involve speaking, listening, writing, and reading
- Create and evaluate assessments of each student’s work and keep records updated
- Foster thought, discussion, reading comprehension, linguistic analysis and a consistent work ethic
- Communicate regularly and constructively with peers, administrators, students, and parents
- Set and assign appropriate homework regularly to reinforce student learning and to prepare them for further class activities
- Use teaching methods engaging students, stimulating intellectual curiosity including the use of effective questioning, presentation and resources
- Set high expectations for students' behavior, establishing and maintaining a good standard of behavior management through well-focused teaching and positive and productive relationships as under the School’s policies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification/license.
- Prior experience teaching in a K-8 setting, preferably in an online or virtual environment.
- Proficiency in using online teaching platforms and educational technology tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of online teaching and learning.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Passion for education and a dedication to student success.
