POSITION OVERVIEW:
Harvest Farms is looking for a self-motivated Controller to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and directing the accounting operations of the company. You’ll play an important part in our company’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy in accounting and compliance with the law.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department, which include accounts payable, accounts receivable and bank reconciliations.
- Manages all accounting functions including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and purchasing.
- Reviews, evaluates and implements accounting systems, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure all financial reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepares and presents financial statements and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.
- Supervises monthly balancing of books and monthly account reviews; prepares and presents monthly financial statements.
- Coordinate annual independent audit and preparation of annual tax documents.
- Directs budget preparation, reviews budget proposals, and prepares necessary supporting documentation and justification for proposed budgets.
- Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress.
- Ensures compliance with statutory payroll and property tax reporting.
- Monitors receivable’s to ensure credit risk is mitigated.
- Oversees account’s payable function including but not limited to compliance with expense reporting, capitalization policy, and purchase order procedures.
- Oversees training programs and identifies training needs.
- Assists with company strategic planning.
- Assists with special projects as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management

REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Strong understanding of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Computer skills required: Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Experience with Microsoft Navision preferred.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required.
- Ten years or more of related experience required.
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This position will be in an office setting, at a desk equipped with computer, monitor, phone, and other applicable resources/equipment. It will require the applicant to routinely sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend for up to 8 hours. Position requires the occasional lifting of objects up to 10lbs.

COMPENSATION:
The expected compensation for this position is $90,000 - $115,000 per year, plus benefits.
