Position Title: Procurement Specialist
Scope of Responsibility:
· Build vendor relationships and negotiate competitive pricing to secure best prices on products and services.
· Creates and manage contracts agreements with vendors to ensure that obligations are met and the process for tracking renewals of existing agreements.
· Assist with documentation organization and collection of all ingredient specification sheets, nutritional statements and other items as needed
· Maintain records of purchase requisition approvals, contracts, pricing, renewal date, and other important procurement data
· Suggests new supply sources to diversify risk and maintain competitive costs
· Research market conditions to understand supply/demand factors and make buying decisions
· Manages inventory levels and places replenishment orders according to production/demand planning needs
· Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure inventory levels are maintained and drive cost saving initiatives
· Prepares and sends purchase orders by verifying specifications and pricing
· Ensures on time and accurate delivery of materials
· Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered; resolves discrepancies with receiving department and suppliers as needed
· Follow-up on product shorts and quality issues as necessary
· Maintain up to date price list for food costing
· Provides cost analysis information as needed by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends
· Maintain excellent communications with internal stakeholders and external partners.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Minimum of 5 years of procurement experience in food industry.
· Strong knowledge of procurement processes and practices.
· Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication.
· Ability to independently manage multiple transactions from initiation to completion.
· Collaboration skills including internal customer service skills
· Advanced systems skills and working knowledge of MS Office, with advanced Excel knowledge
· Analytical / critical thinker
· Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
· Collaborative, team player
· Results focused individual with strong initiative
· Adaptability to changing priorities
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment balancing multiple tasks/ projects
· Inventory planning, vendor, & co-manufacturer management a plus
Qualifications
Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
