JOB DESCRIPTION
The primary function of this role is to load, ship, unload and receive finished product and raw ingredients/packing materials.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
- Use of a Radio Frequency Terminal (RFT).
- Operation of forklift according to plant safety standards.
- Completion of daily forklift inspection sheets & reporting of damage.
- Loading/Unloading trucks according to standard loading procedures and complete paperwork.
- Inspect pallets in accordance to quality specifications.
- Adherence to the Hold/Release procedures.
- Maintaining appearance of work area, according to GMP standards.
- Involvement in Safety and Quality System ownership and audits.
- Involved in process improvement and problem solving.
- Participate in basic maintenance activities as required.
- Performs necessary steps to ensure Personnel Safety, Quality and Food Safety.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
- Work predominantly indoors, including 40-degree cold storage warehouse, and on occasion outdoors in the seasonal ranges of temperature and humidity
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and wear sanitary protective clothing (example: coveralls, hairnets, beard covers, etc.)
- Comply with all Plant Safe Practices
- Function effectively within a team of peers
- Work a 40 hour per week schedule comprised of 4 days per week. Some days are 8 hour days, some are 12 hour days. Work every other Saturday until 3:30- always off shift on Sunday.
- Maintain an acceptable attendance record
- Employees will receive an evaluation during their probationary period, based on the 30/60/90 day New Hire evaluation plan. After the New Hire probation period, each person will develop a Performance Assessment Tool (PAT) with their team leader which will be evaluated annually. PAT ratings will be considered when any technician applies for other positions in the Plant.
- Improve warehouse inventory accuracy and reduce property damages.
COMPENSATION
Competitive wage is $18.67 /hour plus .75 flex pay.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Fork truck driving experience
- Personal computer skills
- Proficient technical reading and math ability
- Schedule flexibility, weekends and on call
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Team oriented, skill-based work system experience
- Warehouse skills
