Responsibilities
- Review and analyze title reports, underlying title documents, surveys, and due diligence materials and prepare title objections, responses and title policy requirements for commercial loans, acquisitions, and sales. Work closely with title companies to clear title objections and obtain title policies.
- Review purchase agreements, contracts and leases and prepare closing checklists and critical date timelines.
- Draft and prepare closing documents, escrow instructions and closing binders.
- Coordinate closings directly with attorneys, clients, lenders, and escrow / title officers
- Coordinate formation, registration and maintenance of business entities.
- Coordinate and assist with due diligence for a variety of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, leases and financings.
- Prepare lease abstracts.
- Keep attorneys and clients apprised of upcoming deadlines and critical dates.
- Maintain client confidence by keeping client / attorney information strictly confidential.
- Adhere to the directions of attorneys and timely complete all tasks.
- Manage other legal staff effectively and train junior paralegals and other legal professionals.
- Attend business development functions and proactively seek to expand client relationships.
- Meet 1,500 minimum annual billable hour requirement.
- Handle work matters with utmost professionalism.
