This position serves as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives for gas measurement operations.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Advanced Measurement Data Analysis & System Optimization:
- Oversee and validate gas measurement data, ensuring accuracy, system balance, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve complex measurement discrepancies across field operations, SCADA, and accounting systems.
- Maintain and analyze Lost & Unaccounted (L&U) gas records, implementing strategies to minimize variances.
- Lead the implementation of best practices for data integrity.
- Process and maintain records of well activity such as new meter connects, temporary disconnects, permanent disconnects, and equipment changes.
- Act as a technical advisor for measurement processes, troubleshooting advanced issues related to meters, flow computers, and gas chromatographs.
- Support field personnel with complex meter calibrations, gas quality analysis, and allocation challenges.
- Calculate natural gas volumes and assist in sizing orifice plates to ensure compliance with Beta Ratio guidelines and optimal differential pressure (DP).
- Oversee SCADA, FlowCal, Test-It and other measurement system integrations, ensuring seamless data transfer and reporting accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with AGA, API, GPA, FERC, PHMSA, and state regulations governing gas measurement.
- Prepare and support internal and external audits, maintaining proper documentation for measurement activities.
- Provide key insights to operations, engineering, commercial, and accounting teams for measurement-related decision-making.
- Communicate with producers, shippers, and regulatory agencies to resolve measurement disputes and ensure compliance.
- Develop advanced reports and analytics on system performance, variance trends, and operational efficiencies.
- Lead initiatives to improve measurement accuracy, reduce system imbalances, and enhance operational efficiencies.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior measurement analysts and field personnel.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes affecting gas measurement.

- Available for on-call support to address urgent measurement issues.
- Office-based with occasional field visits to metering sites and facilities.
- Ability to travel and attend off-site 3rd party training seminars.
- Eight (8) years minimum experience in Measurement field. Measurement Analyst preferred.
- Working knowledge of natural gas measurement data systems, SCADA, and calibration software. FlowCal and Test-It preferred.
- Have working knowledge of industry best practices and API recommendations.
- Have working knowledge of BLM 43 CFR 3175 regulations.
- Knowledge of natural gas flow measurement technologies. (Orifice, Turbine, V-Cones, Ultrasonic)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex tasks of differing priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, producers, and other groups within Harvest.
- Associates degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
