The bartenders at Harvest Moon Pond are crucial to ensuring the successful execution of our events and that our guests have an amazing customer service experience.

ABOUT HARVEST MOON POND

Harvest Moon Pond is an 1865 historic barn transformed into a beautiful, upscale & unique wedding and event venue just 20 miles north of Madison. The venue offers over 9,000 square feet of event space, 2 on site dressing rooms, 4 ceremony locations and 18 acres of beautiful grounds that include a patio and outdoor fireplace. The venue can accommodate up to 225 guests, with an average wedding size of 150 guests. Harvest Moon Pond holds on average 75-80 events per year and oversees full bar service but does not provide onsite catering.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES

• Serve guests responsibly & follow requirements of Wisconsin Bartending License.
• Prepare alcohol or non-alcohol beverages for bar/venue patrons
• Interact with customers, take orders and serve drinks
• Assess customers’ needs and preferences and make recommendations
• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails
• Check customers’ identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age
• Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
• Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Assist other venue staff with transitions of space & closing duties
• Assist with other tasks assigned by owners or managers as needed
• Adhere to bartender checklists

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Bartender experience preferred
• Must be friendly, possess a positive attitude and be a team player
• Must be able to recognize guest intoxication and handle accordingly as guest safety is a top priority.
• Must be reliable and dependable
• Must be able to remain calm in stressful situations & handle customer conflict resolution in a confident and professional-manner.
• Must have a desire to serve others & have great communication skills
• Must have an approachable presence with good customer service skills and a professionalappearance.
• Must be able to confidently interact with clients, serve them well & be a good listener.
• Ability to work on feet for a duration of 8 or more hours, lift 50 pounds, & climb a ladder.
• Must provide relevant training certificate and obtain bartender license

IDEAL CANDIDATE

• Friendly, organized, has a good memory and can communicate efficiently and effectively with a

diverse group of customers. They are energetic, confident, have a strong knowledge of alcoholic
beverages and practice good time management skills. They must be able to work quickly, in fast-
paced environments and methodically.

HOURS/COMPENSATION

• Shifts are primarily on Friday and Saturday afternoons/evenings with occasional Sunday or mid-

week events.

• Flexible scheduling, but must be willing to work at least 4 shifts per month (May- Oct).
• Usual shifts are approximately 3PM-12AM
• This is a part time seasonal position (April – November) with the potential for occasional off

season shifts

• $12/ hour plus tips
