Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Master Teacher to lead our STEM Summer Program, Chisholm Trail: Reading STEM Camp! The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for students and providing students with the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. The Master Teacher develops and implements daily lesson plans for the classrooms. The Master Teacher leads and supervises teachers in curriculum, classroom environment, and parent relationships. The Master Teacher will be responsible for implementing effective teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning needs. This role is essential in shaping young minds and promoting a love for learning through innovative educational practices.
*This position may begin from June 2, 2025 — August 1, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Organizes and provides developmentally appropriate education programs; plans and implements curriculum and education for students.
- Supervises and observes teachers in classroom or other teaching settings to assess relevant skills and recommends methods and strategies appropriate to the achievement of project goals.
- Provides activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem solving appropriate to the developmental levels and learning styles of children.
- Plans and prepares classroom setting; oversees safety and educational programs; supervises students in the classroom; provides a supportive environment in which students can learn and practice appropriate and acceptable individual and group behaviors.
- Interacts with parents and community groups; maintains open and cooperative communication with parents and families, encouraging their involvement in the program and supporting the child's family relationships.
- Leads and functionally supervises assigned staff and students, to include work allocation, training, and problem resolution; provides performance management feedback as appropriate.
- Develops and maintains systems for recording observations, organizing materials for teacher support, and assessing teacher progress.
- Participates in the development and presentation of in-service educational programs pertaining to the Academy; provides feedback and focused educational programs as appropriate.
- Involvement with daily classroom scheduling and other administrative duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of core subject area assigned.
Licensure/ Certification:
- Valid Oklahoma Teacher Certificate with required certification for subject and level assigned, if applicable*
Experience:
- Experience working with young children in an educational setting (preferred).
- Experience in daycare settings or early intervention programs is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and special education practices is beneficial.
- Knowledge of literacy education strategies and math instruction methods is advantageous.
- Previous experience working with children in various capacities will be considered an asset.
