Job Purpose
The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible to supervise the second warehouse selection operations from beginning to end in a union environment. Manage the scheduling and job assignment of selectors. Assure compliance to all safety rules, policies and procedures. Coordinate that all reports and selection documents are ready and that product is selected accurately, while maintaining the highest quality and sanitation standards. Exercise sound judgment in decision making during the course of business.
Key Responsibilities
The Warehouse Supervisor will be assigned duties, based on organizational needs and priorities.
- Supervise the fast-paced warehouse operation to ensure quality, accurate and timely selection of products and take proactive measures to protect against warehouse losses
- Supervise timelines to ensure trucks are released for On Time Delivery
- Supervise all warehouse employees (scheduling, training, attendance, discipline, etc.)
- Supervise the safety and sanitation level throughout the warehouse
- Oversee the loading dock to ensure accurate and proper loading of tractor trailers throughout shift
- Administer and adhere to all governmental and Company regulations / policies (USDA, FDA, OSHA, FMLA, etc)
- Maintain the power equipment in proper running order. Coordinating repairs with maintenance department
- Perform thorough accident investigations as needed, including employee accidents / incidents, equipment accidents / incidents and product damage, per HSFD's accident investigation procedures. Suggest corrective actions as needed and implement after necessary approvals
- Conduct training of new hires, re-training, power equipment safety, non-harassment and other programs as needed
- Post schedules per employee agreement
- Promote open two-way communication with all department
- Support the hiring of employees according to HSFD guidelines and the following HSFD policies on Substance Abuse, Non-Harassment and OSHA Standards
- Coach and reprimand employees per the HSFD policies after review with upper management
- Create and / or distribute warehouse and HSFD reports as needed
- Ensure overall cleanliness of HSFD equipment, inside & out
- Ensure HSFD policies and procedures are in place, communicated and enforced
- Attendance tracking
