Primary Purpose of Position
Under the direction of the Director of Construction and in full compliance with the associate handbook and all applicable laws, rules, and regulations, the Installer is responsible for the proper installation of Harvest Solar Systems while representing the Harvest Solar brand, through the duties outlined below. The ideal candidate will be ambitious and motivated, capable of working with a team and be able to follow directions closely.

Major Responsibilities of Position
  • Maintain Excellent Attendance. When you are not at work, our customer and thereby Harvest’s reputation are negatively impacted.
  • Properly represent Harvest Solar through your professional dress, conduct and behavior on the site or with customers.
  • Follow all instructions to ensure that operations are completed in a safe and productive manner and ensure the quality of our product.
  • Work in a collaborative manner with other installers and electricians to ensure the quality of our product.
  • Active participation in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost reduction and customer satisfaction.
  • Following instructions from construction project managers and supervisors.
  • Taking apart or constructing scaffolding, bracing and other temporary structures for the construction site.
  • Digging trenches and backfill holes to prepare for the construction site.
  • Operating equipment and heavy machinery used in construction sites.
  • Loading and unloading building materials.
  • Cleaning the construction site by removing hazards materials and debris from the worksite.
  • Assisting craft workers such as carpenters or electricians with their duties, if needed.
  • Lay out jobsites, operate equipment to bore holes or drive posts, pour concrete, fasten, and level racking, mount solar panels, run wiring, and test array output.
  • Perform routine maintenance requirements on company-owned equipment as directed.
  • Report safety incidents to your supervisor/crew leader and complete required accident reports.
  • Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

Personal Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Attributes):
Ability to travel 95 to 100% of the time.
Ability to work extended hours; 10 to 12 Monday through Friday
Ability to manage daily priorities and task accomplishment.
Ability to effectively communicate verbally.

Physical demands:
Ability to stand, walk and navigate construction job site terrain.
Must have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions & environments, including but not limited to stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift, pull and push materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds or more on a frequent basis.
Ability to climb to heights and conduct work with proper safety restraints.
Visual requirements include the ability to visually inspect work performed,
Must have the ability to tolerate the above requirements for a minimum of 8 hours daily.

Work Environment
Commercial Constructions Setting – 95 to 100% - Job site terrain and outdoor work installing solar systems working 10- and 12-hour days during installation with exposure to construction site hazards. Extreme temperatures during the summer and winter months can be expected.
Travel Required – 95 to 100% -Work is performed at the job site which varies therefore overnight travel for periods of 3 to 5 days is required. Periods of up to 21 days are occasionally expected. Harvest values our employees work life balance and whenever possible, overnight travel is Monday through Friday. Hotel and transportations costs are covered. Additionally, food per diem is paid for overnight stays.

Educational and Certification Background
1 High school diploma or GED Required
2 6 months’ work experience. One year construction industry experience, preferred Required
3 Valid State Driver’s License. CDL Class A Combination without airbrake preferred Required
4 MIOSHA Certification, i.e., OSHA 10, etc. Required
