What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foodservice Sales Associate position at HARVEST VALLEY?
Harvest Valley is a wholesale foodservice distributor specializing in Asian foods. We are looking for an energetic, hard-working outside sales associate who enjoys meeting new people and building relationships with new and existing customers. The position requires non-traditional hours (evening, weekends, and holidays) to meet customers’ needs, along with travel by car to visit customers.
Responsibilities:
- Become an expert in company products and services
- Research sales territory and prospective customers
- Develop new business and minimize lost business to achieve profitable sales growth
- Be informed of market conditions, product innovations, and competitors’ products, prices, and sales
- Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, and product uses
- Take orders from existing customers
- Communicate and collect accounts receivable as necessary, working with the credit department and client; collect balances due based on approved credit terms
- Manage deliveries according to pre-set route schedule; troubleshoot problems that may occur during order process (eg out of stock items, low inventory levels)
- Attend general sales meetings
- Engage in ongoing sales team training and development
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Culinary Arts, or related discipline OR High School Diploma/GED with experience as Chef, Restaurant Manager, Outside Sales, or equivalent experience
- English required, Spanish and/or Chinese strongly preferred
- Restaurant Management, Foodservice Outside Sales, or Chef experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
