The position: Lead Food initiative and partnerships with targeted populations. Plan, oversee, implement and evaluate all aspects of outreach efforts for the SNAP program. Develop models of impact that support overall neighbor wellness, stability and food security. This position meets the requirements and may be considered hybrid eligible.
Primary responsibilities:
· Support strategic programs which address the root cause of food insecurity, while providing emergency food assistance.
· Lead all aspects of daily operation of the programs operating within the Food framework, including distribution/delivery of food to program partners, communication with program partners, maintenance of appropriate records for program administration, and customer service for day-to-day activities.
· Identify and recruit viable partners for collaboration.
· Conduct regular partner training and education opportunities for new and existing partners.
· Conduct compliance visits for partner organizations to ensure compliance with food safety and program standards.
· Develop program policies and procedures, including operating guidelines and documents, training materials, and standard processes for program partners which maintain program integrity and ensure compliance with all contractual requirements.
· Develop and implement strategies to conduct outreach and training for agency and community partners to promote SNAP participation.
· Lead SNAP application processing through promotional activities, scheduled application sessions, and by phone or email to screen and enroll potential SNAP participants.
· Support statewide collaborations for SNAP outreach activities where applicable.
· Lead and support SNAP and food resource inquiries through referral platforms from various community partners. (i.e.: findhelp.org, Unite Us etc.) and then provide follow-up to the referrals to keep a tight loop.
· Collaborate with supervisor to explore and shape broader root cause efforts and approaches, including identifying and recruiting viable program partners.
· Partner and coordinate with other colleagues in Community Impact department and across the organization to ensure a comprehensive approach for effective program integration across multiple areas.
· Partner with the other department managers across the organization to create integrated plans and approaches to partner communications, customer service, training and procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Requirements:
· BA/BS degree in Sociology, Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, Human Services or related field, or equivalent of 4 years of experience in this area of work.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Familiar with food service concepts, practices and procedures.
· Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office- Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Have a dedication to the mission of Harvesters.
· This position requires an understanding of all Harvesters food safety policies and compliance with all food safety related procedures.
Preferred:
· Minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
· Experience in social and/or economic development, a multi-cultural environment, coalition building and marketing.
· Work with SNAP or USDA regulated programs.
· Conducting training.
