At Harvesters, the Shopping Floor Coordinator is one of the faces of our organization to agencies who pick up their food orders on site. In addition to their regular orders, agency representatives have the opportunity to "shop" from our selection of non-standard food items - this is where you come in. You'll assist agencies with check-in and any issues that arise while they are shopping and monitor and assist volunteers working on the shopping floor. Excellent customer service with both internal staff and external agencies and customers will lead to success in this position.
The Shopping Floor Coordinator performs a daily grocery rescue import and completes inventory journal entries and adjustments in our software. You'll check the daily schedule to ensure that all scheduled agency pickup orders are ready for shipment. You'll be responsible for restocking the dry/cooler areas and discarding damaged food. We pride ourselves on maintaining clean, safe trucks, tractors, trailers, warehouse equipment and work environments. This position includes implementing all methods required for the safe product storage handling and disposition following safe food handling procedures.

Other aspects of the job:
- This position functions in an office and warehouse environment (Cooler/Dry/Freezer). It requires the use of general office equipment such as telephone, computers, adding machines, calculators, fax and copiers and extensive standing and walking throughout the warehouse.
- You will be required to occasionally engage in heavy lifting (20 to 50 lbs.) and frequently engage in light lifting (5 to 20 lbs.) This position will also require the use of material handling equipment such as walk behind and riding pallet jacks, as well as gas and electric forklifts. Time will be allocated as follows: 60% stationary working at a computer terminal, 30% working in a warehouse environment and 10% talking on the telephone and radio.
Qualifications:
- At least one year of customer service and data entry experience, with basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is required.
- Prior work experience in a warehouse environment with inventory systems preferred.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Requires a high school education or equivalent.
