Job Description : Position Summary :
The Human Resources Employment Manager (Manager) serves as a key contributor to the College's HR operations, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, and employment administration. The position manages the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for candidates and new hires. It involves collaborating with hiring managers and the HR team to address staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and oversee temporary employment arrangements. Additionally, the Manager facilitates staff onboarding and new hire orientation and ensures compliance with initial performance reviews in Workday.
Employment administration responsibilities include processing job changes, conducting compensation analyses, managing offboarding processes, and analyzing exit interview trends to provide strategic retention insights. Additional responsibilities include contributing to annual HR programs, supporting HR process standardization, and serving on campus committees. This comprehensive role requires a collaborative, proactive approach to ensure the College's HR operations align with strategic goals and support a thriving, inclusive workplace.
The Manager will report to the Assistant Vice President-Chief Human Resources Officer and is vital in cultivating trusting relationships with prospective hires while delivering an exemplary candidate onboarding experience. The role requires the capacity to manage multiple priorities and work in a diverse and fast-paced environment. Central to this position is a need for a highly detailed-oriented, motivated, process-driven individual who is proactive and welcomes the opportunity to innovate and drive continuous improvement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Recruitment and Onboarding - 60%
- Manage recruiting process for all staff, ensuring a positive candidate experience. Provide responsive support by posting and advertising jobs, conducting interviews, onboarding, and processing new hires within Workday.
- Collaborate with Hiring Managers and HR team to keep them informed and engaged with the progression of sourcing and outreach campaigns.
- Partners with department managers to provide guidance on reorganizations and restructures, assessment of staffing needs, and research related to job redesign, developing and reviewing job descriptions.
- Conduct new hire orientation sessions for new staff in partnership with the HR team.
- Ensure all initial performance reviews are launched and completed in Workday. Run reports to ensure compliance and responsible for follow up with managers as necessary.
- Partner with the Senior Associate Director for Human Resources regarding any staff immigration requests (e.g., OPT, J1, H1B, etc.)
- Coordinate, track, and manage all College temporary employment arrangements. Includes monitoring for end of assignments, communication with managers and individual incumbents, and other coordination as necessary to ensure compliance.
- Provide support for inquiries related to independent contractors, in partnership with CHRO.

Hours :
Regular office hours are 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. However, days and hours may vary due to the needs of the department or the College.
Classification :
This is an exempt, full-time, benefits-eligible position.
Compensation :
The anticipated starting salary is $68,640 / year. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Reports To :
This position reports to the Assistant Vice President-Chief Human Resources Officer.
