About the Role
- The Program Manager II (PM) is at a junior-to-mid career level and is responsible for multiple projects or leading aircraft integration programs that incorporate elements of concept development, engineering design, manufacturing, and testing.
- The PM is the main customer focal point and ensures program objectives and requirements are met by focusing on the planning, execution, & tracking for cost, schedule, subcontractor/ vendor performance, risk, opportunity, and other key performance indicators.
- Responsible for driving on-time technical and operational execution in line with program schedule and budget. The PM carries out the Risk Management Process to ensure risks are identified and issues are resolved effectively.
In This Role You Will:
- Lead programs from inception to closure.
- Oversee and guide cross-functional groups on projects spanning from concept creation to detailed design to manufacturing/modification to testing and certification.
- Manage customers to ensure expectations are properly set and always met.
- Lead and influence all internal and external stakeholders in order to complete programs within budget and schedule, with a high level of quality and value-added.
- Support the development and management of requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and decision-making on engineering designs.
- Lead design reviews with other technical leaders.
- Support the management of suppliers and external design/build vendors.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and modification teams and leaders on implementation.
- Coordinate with component qualification and aircraft testing teams and leaders on test development and data delivery.
- Lead the scope management process, including Change Management.
- Develop & maintain an integrated master schedule and budget based on detailed technical planning for large-scale, complex programs including design, manufacturing, modification, and test programs.
- Develop & maintain control systems that accurately measure program cost, schedule, risk, and technical performance with sufficient time for corrective action should issues arise.
Qualifications
The Skills You Will Bring (Minimum):
Education
Four (4) year degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Avionics, Electrical, Mechanical or Instrumentation) Project Management, or Business.
Experience
- Four (4) years of related experience (aerospace, aircraft design, development, test, etc.)
- Two (2) years of cross-functional project management such as Program Manager, Project Engineer, Systems Engineer, or similar roles.
- Must have experience managing program schedules & budgets to completion.
Qualifications (Preferred)
- MBA, Masters or other graduate degree
- PMP Certification
- Proposal and Negotiation experience
- Proficiency with 14 CFR Part 25 certification regulations, together with the associated means of compliance presented in AC 25-7C.
