The Application Engineer will sell Harvey Performance brands to distributors within the defined territory. The Opportunity
The Application Engineer will sell Harvey Performance brands to distributors within the defined territory. They are responsible for new business development, distributor management, and will work closely with the internal Inside Sales/Customer Service team to solve application problems. The Application Engineer will be on the road most days traveling to meet with new and current distributors and end users.
In This Role, You Will
- Apply, sell & grow products from our brands.
- Support existing distributor partners through joint sales calls, product training, customer support/analysis, and product recommendations.
- Manage, develop, and support end user customer accounts through product testing, application and consultation.
- Oversee all distributor needs, events, demonstration days etc.
- Handle all small-medium application opportunities, knowing when to incorporate more senior staff / management for elevated technical support when/if needed for key projects.
- Establish and develop deep-seated professional customer relationships with appropriate personnel.
- Maintain any/all your sales activity through our CRM platform (Salesforce.com), including logging all calls, managing account contacts, reporting any activity and/or account communications.
- Conducts periodic technical seminars for distributors/end-users for more in-depth brand awareness, application assistance.
- Develops and manages annual sales forecasting and cost budgeting for your territory.
- Understands, develops and exercises Value Selling techniques with all your customers.
- Provides customer feedback to help our New Product Development (NPD) group develop new products and improve on existing product lines and opportunities.
- Associate degree required, Bachelor’s degree desired.
- Minimum of 5 years cutting tool sales experience.
- Consistent track record of meeting & exceeding quota.
- Strong technical aptitude in the application of cutting tools.
- Written & verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications, and experience using CRM systems.
- Self-motivated and results driven.
- Demonstrated abilities as a team player.
- Project Management Skills.
- Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree desired.
- Will be on the road 4-5 days/week, this travel will be a combination of local travel with some overnight travel required, as well as travel for Company wide sales and organizational meetings.
- The Sales Territory will be primarily the northeast region of the United States. Some overnight travel will be required depending on business opportunities.
