Beekeeper

Overview
Harvey's Honey is a migratory Commerical Beekeeping operation that is based out of New Jersey. Our farm runs about 4,000 honeybee colonies. We are seeking someone who would like to join our team working directly in the Honeybee Hives. They have to be team oriented and willing to help with all aspect of our farm. In the winter, the Honeybees go to Florida to winter. The Honeybees leave around Sept. and return in March. You will be required to travel to Florida when needed throughout that time. Our pay is depending on experience.

Duties

• Check the hives for the health condition, monitoring for disease and treating the hive when needed
• Locating the Queens in the hive
• Working directly in a Honeybee hive
• Harvesting and Extracting honey from the hives
• Moving Honeybees at night
• Making bee equipment in the woodroom
• As well as other farm responsibilities
• Maintain Hive equipment, beehive smokers, company vehicles, and extracting equipment to keep in good working condition.

Qualifications

• Must have Highschool Diploma
• Must have Clean Valid U.S. Driver's License
• Must have Valid Social Security Number
• Must be willing to Travel out of State and have proper documentation ( ie. real id or passport)
• Must have Reliable Transportation
• Must be able to lift 60lbs.
• Must not be Allergic to Honeybee Stings
• Must be able to stand and bend for long periods of time while working in the hives
• Work in all weather conditions. (majority of work is outdoors)
• Follow written and verbal directions

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
