POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a dynamic and proactive corporate communications intern to join our team and contribute from day one to meaningful assignments, working independently and with the broader Corporate Affairs team to execute an integrated communications and marketing strategy. Under the guidance of the Vice President of Corporate Affairs and the direct supervision of the Corporate Communications Manager, the intern will support efforts across paid, earned, social, and owned media channels to effectively engage and inform our stakeholders. This internship is based in our Annapolis, Maryland office, offering convenient access to both Baltimore and Washington, DC.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work independently and as a team member on assigned projects
- Write and update a wide variety of written content, including draft press releases, social posts, newsletters, case studies, talking points, website copy, exec bios, 1-pagers, presentation decks
- Assist with drafting and scheduling content for social media platforms including LinkedIn and X
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other graphic platforms to edit images and make graphics for social media
- Assist in the development, writing, editing, design, distribution, and feedback analysis of HASI’s intranet and internal company newsletter(s) to enhance internal communication and employee engagement
- Maintain and update calendar of executive speaking opportunities and industry awards, and develop draft speaking or awards submissions
- Maintain and update media lists and perform media monitoring on clean energy market and policy updates
- Support guest identification and develop social toolkits for the Climate Positive podcast
- Conduct research and analysis of marketing best practices to inform updates to brand marketing strategy
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure consistency and alignment with HASI’s brand and messaging
- Assist in tracking and analyzing the performance of communications initiatives, compiling reports, and providing recommendations for improvement
- Contribute ideas for innovative communications tactics and strategies to enhance HASI’s visibility and engagement
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Available for entire term of internship
- Current undergraduate or graduate student
- Expected degree and/or prior work experience in one of the following fields preferred: Communications/PR, Marketing, and/or Journalism
- Strong editing, writing, and proofreading skills
- Experience using AP style
- Strong interest in and knowledge of clean energy, finance, and public policy
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Superior project management skills
- Experience with AirTable, Google Analytics, and media monitoring software is a plus
- Creative design or web skills are a strong plus
