POSITION SUMMARY

 

We seek a strategic and agile corporate communications professional to develop and implement a high-impact, integrated marketing communications strategy that effectively informs and engages key stakeholder audiences. In this role, you will be responsible for translating our business vision, strategy, and culture into effective communication strategies that drive growth and support our team in reaching its fullest potential. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Affairs, you will identify and leverage strategic opportunities to tell the HASI story across earned, owned, paid, and social media channels, executive engagements, and other relevant forums.

 

This role requires an intellectually curious, self-motivated professional who can plan and execute projects with efficiency and innovation. Discretion and sound judgment are essential in formulating clear perspectives on complex issues and creating concise, impactful narratives. The ideal candidate is a strong writer with expertise in clean energy, finance, and corporate sustainability. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and execute a modern, proactive, multi-channel communications plan to enhance the company’s reputation and support our business objectives
  • Work closely with VP of Corporate Affairs, the Chief Client Officer, and Executive leadership team members to develop and/or refine narratives, positions, and messaging on our approach to sustainable infrastructure investing, breaking down complex ideas into clear, straightforward language to effectively engage key stakeholders
  • Champion key thought leadership priorities that align with the company’s strategy and business objectives
  • Assess risks, issues and potential communications problems and provide proactive solutions
  • Serve as a spokesperson for the company, managing all earned media activities, including building media lists, pitching stories, responding to inquiries, preparing briefing documents and prepping spokespeople, and scheduling interviews.
  • Identify news hooks and agile earned media opportunities that support business objectives, leveraging key contacts and managing relationships to ensure media coverage in business and trade media.
  • Coordinate client-related announcements and other corporate HASI press releases to ensure message consistency and adherence to external protocols
  • Proactively identify speaking opportunities and vet inbound external speaking requests, assessing  risks and headwinds and preparing executives for these engagements
  • Develop and manage social media strategy, create content, and build measurement approaches to enhance HASI’s social media presence
  • Write and post external website content in coordination with select functional subject matter experts in other departments at HASI, IT team, and outside vendors
  • Analyze the performance of marketing channels and sponsorship activations; conduct market research and analysis of the competitive landscape to identify opportunities for improving the brand marketing strategy and activities
  • Develop and implement effective internal communication strategies to promote organizational alignment, employee engagement, and company culture, including sourcing, drafting, and delivering content such as email newsletters and intranet updates.
  • Be hands-on in developing, reviewing, and editing company-wide communications, including PowerPoint presentations that support internal and external storytelling, ensuring that all communications follow HASI corporate visual guidelines and have the consistency of style, tone, and voice
  • Work with Client Engagement and Corporate Affairs colleagues to ensure company-wide best practices, processes, and guidelines that ensure all communications follow HASI corporate visual guidelines and have the consistency of style, tone, and voice
  • Partner with Investor Relations, Legal and Sustainability & Impact teams on annual report and sustainability & impact report
  • Collaborate with Public Affairs team members to enhance HASI's public policy advocacy initiatives
  • Manage external vendors, agencies, and freelancers to deliver high-quality content and communications


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • 7 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or a related field
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing effective communication strategies
  • Prior renewable energy industry and/or financial services experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations that synthesize complex problems and recommended solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to distill complex industry-technical messages and jargon into high impact messaging for a broad variety of audiences of all technical abilities
  • Strong people skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels, functions, and work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Possesses the courage and conviction to offer new and creative promotional ideas in line with business goals and emerging trends
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to manage and drive projects to completion
  • Advanced experience with AP style, Microsoft Office Suite, and research techniques
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and social media analytics tools
  • Experience with generative AI tools, Google Analytics and/or media monitoring software

SALARY RANGE


Expected salary range of $140,000.00 - $170,000.00, based on experience.  In addition, HASI offers an annual bonus program; 401(k) with company match; an equity incentive program; comprehensive medical, dental and vision benefits; paid time off for vacation, holidays, and sick days; and much more.
