Position Overview
The Director of Finance will play a pivotal role in building our finance organization and smooth operation of our dynamic operational environment. They will be responsible for leading and managing all things finance, including accounting, month end close, financial planning & analysis, cash management, pricing and unit economic growth & profitability strategies . Additionally, the role includes managing the company's assets, including our fleet and office(s), to support our team's efficiency and growth.
This position is based in our Rockville, MD office.
What You’ll Accomplish
- Strategic Finance: Partner with the CEO to identify levers for unit economic growth and optimization that improves the economics of the business and member experience
- FinancialPlanning & Analysis: Help organize a clear and efficient budget process and hold various teams & lanes to their budgets
- Accounting: Maintain financial records, manage payroll, and handle AR/AP to ensure accurate and efficient financial operations. Note: we have support for tactical AP/AR work.
- Reporting: Perform month end close and insert actuals into company financial forecast. Work directly with CEO on cash management on an ongoing basis.
- Asset/Resource Management: Oversee vehicle fleet, leases, equipment procurement, and cell phone contracts to optimize resource use and operational efficiency.
Who You Are
- A rising star at a Big 4 accounting firm interested in going in house at a fast growing start up company
- A CPA looking to join a growing company and grow quickly within the organization into a leadership position. Note: being a CPA is preferred but not required to apply
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial management
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask
- Highly comfortable with technology (Google Apps, Excel, Quickbooks, our proprietary Software)
- Ability to learn quickly on the job
