Summary
The Field Service Technician I’s inspects and services customer equipment by ensuring product performance, addressing and resolving basic questions and problems regarding products, and conducting training and service programs in the operation and maintenance of products. The Field Service Technician I may work closely with senior technicians on jobs as they increase their knowledge of the equipment the company services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Basic installation, inspection, and start up equipment at customer sites (if needed) according to specifications and drawings.
- Monitor and/or help with the erection and installation of equipment to ensure that company guidelines and tolerances have been met.
- Service some basic company products at customer sites; testing, troubleshooting, and adjusting as needed.
- Entry level use of various gauges, meters, tools and electrical testing equipment to check specifications.
- Communicate with appropriate company employees regarding product problems to facilitate problem resolution.
- Complete all required records and documentation for customers and for the company.
- Develop fundamental knowledge of our equipment and products.
- Inspect specific parts of customer’s equipment.
- May have some overnight travel.
Required Skills
- High school education and one to two years of technical experience
- Mechanical aptitude preferred.
- Must be able to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, customer specifications, warranties, company standards, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence; communicate effectively with customers and teammates.
- Must be able to safely operate a variety of small hand and power tools and electronic testing equipment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods, stoop, kneel, reach above shoulders and bend at the waist.
- Must be able to climb a 30-foot ladder and be able to life 50 pounds unassisted.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
