What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Dance Coach (Part-Time) position at Hastings College?
Hastings College is searching for a part-time, stipend Head Dance Coach with an anticipated start date of August 2025.
The Head Dance Coach will oversee all aspects of the Dance Program, including recruitment, athlete development, and program administration. The coach will work closely with student-athletes to foster a positive and competitive team culture while promoting academic success and personal growth.
- Identify and recruit student-athletes who demonstrate the talent, character, and academic potential to excel in both dance and academics.
- Develop and maintain relationships with high school coaches, club teams, and other recruiting networks.
- Monitor the academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes to ensure compliance with NAIA, GPAC, and institutional standards.
Athlete Development:
- Design and implement training sessions that focus on skill development, choreography, and physical conditioning.
- Provide individualized feedback and guidance to athletes to help them reach their full potential at practice and in competition.
- Foster a competitive and supportive team environment that encourages athlete growth and teamwork.
Program Administration:
- Manage the budget for the program, including travel expenses, equipment purchases, and other operational costs.
- Fundraise to help create additional resources for the program.
- Coordinate team travel arrangements.
- Collaborate with athletic department staff on marketing, fundraising, and community engagement initiatives.
- Work as a liaison between the program and other departments.
Student-Athlete Support:
- Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes, providing guidance and support to help them succeed academically, athletically, and personally.
- Advocate for the needs of student-athletes within the athletic department and College community.
- Promote a culture of sportsmanship, respect, and integrity.
