GENERAL MANAGER
Job Summary:
The general manager is responsible for all operations related to the restaurant, including the bar and kitchen operations. The general manager will maintain a positive, efficient, and high-quality work environment while ensuring the overall successful operation of Hatch Early Mood Food. The general manager will ensure the success of the team. They will assume guardianship of the guest experience, ensuring that each and every guest receives quick, courteous, and high-quality service at all times. They will lead in organizing, coordinating, and ensuring the success of all restaurant activities, including daytime operations, evening events, and community activities. The general manager will lead in training and managing team members, bartenders, and team leads. They will ensure that Hatch Early Mood Food meets standards in sales, staffing, quality, and daily operations. The general manager must demonstrate significant knowledge of products, recipes, and procedures. They will enforce all restaurant policies and standards and demonstrate a strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Hatch Early Mood Food.
Store Operations:
- Maintaining a profitable operation, managing controllable expenses, and monitoring labor costs.
- Creating sales volume growth and fostering a positive guest experience.
- Planning and executing sales promotions and maintaining a positive community image.
- Maintaining sufficient product, merchandise, and supplies needed to manage an efficient restaurant.
- Ensuring all opening and closing duties are completed as required.
- Demonstrating knowledge of team role expectations and verifying these expectations are being met by all team members.
- Delegating duties as necessary to assistant managers, team leads, and team members.
- Ensuring the restaurant, backroom, and equipment are maintained appropriately.
- Tracking and managing inventory accurately and efficiently.
- Maintaining proper loss prevention standards.
- Responding to any emergencies regardless of the time of day by directing or performing steps necessary to ensure medical treatment and/or escape routes are available.
- Maintaining consistent communication with the owners regarding any issues, conflicts, events, etc.
- Reporting accidents and potential safety hazards and making recommendations on the proper course of action.
Service:
- Exemplifying outstanding customer service and providing an exceptional guest experience.
- Proactively resolving conflicts and managing guest concerns.
- Ensuring that all team members exhibit a strong desire to uphold Hatch Early Mood Food standards and policies.
- Coaching, leading, and encouraging team members to meet Hatch Early Mood Food's service standards.
- Ensuring team members and all areas of the restaurant maintain a professional and clean appearance at all times.
- Collaborating with the leadership team to ensure that each team member is knowledgeable in the preparation, description, and service of all products, including specialty beverages.
Product:
- Exhibiting strong knowledge of all products and services offered in the restaurant, including alcoholic beverages, seasonal dishes, and coffee beverages.
- Striving to maintain the highest quality product standards.
- Consistently following and guarding all Hatch Early Mood Food recipes.
- Overseeing food and beverage preparation and leading in training, certification, and correction when necessary.
Training & Development:
- Implementing effective recruiting, hiring, and training methods to achieve optimal retention.
- Providing input on performance appraisals for team members.
- Leading in counseling, correction, and development efforts for all team members.
- Leading in the training of new team members.
- Motivating team members to maintain high-quality performance and speed while encouraging a positive and supportive work environment.
- Ensuring all standards, policies, and procedures are upheld in the restaurant at all times.
- Addressing inconsistencies or concerns regarding standards with the leadership team and contributing ideas and suggestions for resolution.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be willing and able to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages.
- Must hold or have the ability to obtain a current Oklahoma liquor license.
- Certain locations will require a valid food handler's permit.
- Must be able to effectively communicate through confrontation and conflict situations.
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous supervisory and management experience preferred.
- Minimum one year of retail, register, and cash handling experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Must be able to work overtime, including weekends, evenings, and special events as needed.
- Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
- Must have effective problem-solving/decision-making abilities.
- This position requires frequent standing and use of hands and arms.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently bend and twist from the waist.
- Must be able to adjust vision to both day and night lighting and focus on distant and close-range projects.
- Regularly required to handle food, hot beverages, and work with sharp objects.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Salary : $60,000 - $100,000
