Job Description
As a senior leader within the hardware engineering organization, you will manage and grow a team of program managers, coordinate cross-functional efforts across the company, and drive strategic initiatives from conception through launch.
Head of Hardware Engineering
As the Head of Hardware you will be taking embedded products from concept to production. You will be leading teams of 30 multi-disciplinary engineers in the process as well as coordinating with supply chain, outside vendors and contractors to make sure the product production is complete!
Qualifications

Required experience :
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. degree in the field of Robotics, Computer Science, or Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
- 5 years of leadership experience with teams of 20 engineers including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers and firmware / embedded engineers
- Experience driving the development of products from the prototyping phase to large-scale production
- Experience managing the hardware and software product development cycle for embedded products that are required to withstand the outside elements
- Experience working with cross-functional groups (supply chain, production, field operations / support, hardware / software / mechanical / electrical / integration / test / safety engineers) throughout the entire product development life cycle to ensure that final products meet the requirements / objectives and the product can be effectively released to production and field support.
- Familiarity supervising engineers working with Linux (Ubuntu) or other POSIX and Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) (NuttX, QNX, and / or VxWorks, specifically)
- Experience reading schematics and basic electronics, as well as understanding hardware documentation for the purposes of writing drivers.
