JDSAT is seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support the implementation of data governance policies, data quality processes, and data stewardship initiatives. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Success in this role will be measured based on the ability to establish clear data management processes, enhance documentation, and effectively collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to support their data needs and improve understanding
This position requires a SECRET clearance or demonstrated ability to obtain such clearance. This position is hybrid, requiring on-site work in Fairfax, VA as needed.

\n- Assist in developing data governance policies and SOPs to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Maintain and update data dictionaries, metadata tables, and governance documentation.
- Conduct basic data audits and monitoring to ensure adherence to governance standards.
- Work with internal teams to enhance data lifecycle documentation and ensure clarity in processes.
- Data Quality & Management:
- Support data stewardship efforts by ensuring clean and accurate data across platforms.
- Assist in identifying and resolving data inconsistencies, errors, and quality concerns.
- Work with SQL and metadata tools to perform data profiling and validation.
- Regularly update SharePoint repositories and documentation to reflect the latest governance policies and data changes.
- Act as a liaison between data owners and non-technical users, helping them understand data policies and governance best practices.
- Develop guides, FAQs, and training materials to assist non-technical teams in working with data.
- Provide support during governance meetings and sustainment discussions to keep stakeholders informed of changes and improvements.
- 3 years of experience in data governance, data management, or data analysis.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

- Exposure to data governance concepts such as data stewardship, metadata management, and master data management.
- Experience working with data dictionaries, metadata, and data quality processes.
- Basic SQL knowledge and ability to perform simple queries for data validation and profiling.
- Strong documentation and organizational skills, with experience maintaining data-related documentation and SOPs.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
- Familiarity with data governance tools, SharePoint, and cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
- Exposure to Python for basic scripting and data automation.
- Knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) principles.
- Experience working with APIs, flat file extracts, and basic ETL processes.
