About The Role:
The Software Engineering Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the architecture and design of the company's Edge Computing & Instrumentation systems and embedded systems, and for providing clear direction to a team of firmware and software engineers in the development of complex wearable Edge Computing products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, managing technical documentation, and supporting products throughout their lifecycle. Strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of product requirements, and the ability to balance technical constraints and business goals are key attributes for success in this role. This position has the potential to greatly impact the efficiency and effectiveness of our product development process, and our speed to market as we look to disrupt the world of wearable technology by developing and selling garment-embedded electronic products and solutions that transform the intersection of technology and the human.

\n- Lead and mentor a team of embedded and host-based software engineers
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and debugging of Edge Computing software solutions
- Oversee the design, development, testing, and debugging of embedded software
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components
- Monitor technical advances in processor architectures, algorithms, and embedded techniques, and maintain a roadmap in support of business objectives.
- Manage the software and firmware team to meet project timelines, budgets, and deliverables
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
- Provide technical guidance and support to the software and firmware engineering teams
- Conduct performance reviews and support professional development of team members
- Understand and foresee market and customer requirements to drive innovation
- Ideate unique solutions to meet market demands and customer needs
- May contribute to proposal writing for various defense and industry applications
- Guide leadership and cross-functional teams to understand scope, risks, and opportunities
- Master's degree in computer science preferred, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Edge Computing and embedded software development
- Ready to lead SW and FW engineers while using strong project planning and management skills
- Has a strong understanding of cross-disciplined engineering principles (i.e., HW, ME, manufacturing, etc.)
- At least 2 years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C/C , Python, and Embedded C. Nice to have JavaScript and React Native experience
- Knowledge of advanced processor architectures and ability to define software requirements for complex systems and functional algorithms
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to process and continuous improvement using tools such as Monday.com, Bitbucket, Arena, etc.
- Experience with communication interfaces like SPI, I2C, USB, UART, and BLE
- Experience with sensors and data acquisition preferred
- Familiarity with host application development
- Prior exposure working within Software related MIL, Medical and ISO standards is desirable
- Strong solution ideation and problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience managing the deliverables for engineering and manufacturing test software
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- US citizenship or legal permanent resident is required
Salary : $130,000 - $155,000
