What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Hatch Stamping Company?
Hatch Stamping Company is looking for a highly driven individual to fill the position of Production Supervisor. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily activities of the plant personnel, ensuring the continuous improvement of safety, quality, workplace organization, performance to schedule, efficiency, run-to-rate, set-up vs. standard, production hours, and overall success while promoting positive labor relations climate and teamwork. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles and Six Sigma Techniques is essential along with a proven history of waste elimination records. Must have Strong ability to lead others and lead by example.
Responsibilities (This section is not inclusive. Other duties may be assigned as necessary).
· Leads the activities of the assigned work cell(s) personnel including workforce assignments, identifying overtime requirements and bringing them to the Plant Manager’s attention, vacation scheduling, issuing and administering disciplinary action if required, completing annual performance appraisal and completing payroll status change request forms and various other company-related documents.
· Works closely with the maintenance department personnel to minimize machine downtime by identifying root cause, insuring timelines of repair operation, coordinating necessary departmental support, and following up on countermeasures to avoid future breakdowns.
· Promotes a positive labor relations climate and teamwork throughout the company.
· Ensures assigned work cell(s) daily productivity targets: Performance to Schedule, Efficiency, Run to Rate, Production Hours, Set-up VS. Standard, Workplace Organization, is achieved, including monitoring actual performance against established goals and initiates actions to correct any negative variances from the goal.
· Participates as a member of the Plant Operations Team. Reviews the summary report(s) and corrective actions taken with the Plant Operations Team. Inputs daily production counts and distributes reports to all required departments. Manages to End of Shift Report data.
· Identifies training requirements for assigned work cell(s) personnel, sets schedules and provides resources to conduct training in conjunction with Human Resources to ensure a flexible workforce is in place. Maintains skills tracking matrix for assigned work cell(s) personnel.
· Maintains a safe working environment including completion of accident investigation reports, Completing Safety Audits, workplace Organization Audits, Assures proper utilization of personal protective equipment, and compliance with company safety rules and procedures.
· Ensures all assigned work cell(s) procedures, work instructions, worksheets, and SPC charts are up to date and are being followed and utilized properly, as described in said procedures as applicable.
· Reviews quality data and provides an interpretation of quality standards when required.
· Maintains a clean and organized work cell environment.
· Responsible for the condition of all company property and equipment. Reports any miss-use and abuse of the company property and equipment by completing incident reports and administering disciplinary action as required.
