Job Overview:
We are looking for a Freelance Fractional Technology Expert with a strong background in multimedia production, digital preservation, archival timelines, and working with legacy digital content. This role will support various projects, including editing and digitizing video content, converting older media formats (such as CDs), and maintaining and organizing digital archives. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with expertise in technology tools and platforms, digital media management, and a passion for working with educational [and personal] materials.
Responsibilities:
- Video Editing: Edit and enhance video content for educational programs, webinars, and presentations. Ensure videos are polished and meet the highest standards for quality and accessibility.
- Digitizing Content: Convert legacy physical content (e.g., CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes) into modern digital formats (e.g., MP4, WAV, PDF, etc.) while preserving the quality and integrity of the original materials.
- Digital Asset Management: Organize, archive, and maintain a growing digital library of resources, ensuring that files are properly labeled, tagged, and easy to access. Implement systems for efficient file storage and retrieval.
- Legacy Work Support: Work with older formats, software, and technologies to ensure that legacy content is preserved, digitized, and made accessible across modern platforms.
- Technical Assistance: Provide technical support for ongoing projects, including troubleshooting issues with digital tools, software, and platforms. Offer strategic advice on best practices for digital tools and content management.
- Project Coordination: Work closely with the project lead/team to understand needs and provide timely deliverables. Balance multiple projects simultaneously and adhere to deadlines.
- Collaboration: Partner with other team members, including video producers, graphic designers, and content specialists, to ensure seamless integration of technology into the overall project workflow.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in video editing using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
- Strong proficiency in archival use of digitizing legacy media (e.g., CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, etc.) into digital formats.
- Expertise in digital asset management tools, cloud storage, and file organization best practices.
- Familiarity with audio/video compression and optimization for web and social media platforms.
- Experience working with a variety of software and digital platforms, such as video production tools, cloud-based storage systems (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.), and multimedia file formats.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to new technology quickly.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with a remote team.
- Ability to self-manage and prioritize multiple projects with attention to detail.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in the education or social impact sector.
- Familiarity with online learning platforms (e.g., Zoom, YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) and their integration with multimedia content.
- Knowledge of metadata tagging and best practices for digital content archiving.
