The qualified candidate will be educated and experienced in a field related to data analytics, such as statistics, economics, computer science, operations research, data science, or similar. Candidate must be able to operate as part of a data science team and be comfortable with data management, data exploration, and data visualization. The Visualization Specialist will liaise with data owners, become an expert in relevant data systems, and manipulate and analyze complex data to produce decision-supporting results for navy leaders. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert who is also technically balanced and able to interface with client personnel and prepare professional communication products such as papers and briefs.

This position requires a SECRET clearance or demonstrated ability to obtain such clearance. This position is hybrid, requiring on-site work in Falls Church, VA as needed.

Responsibilities :

Create interactive and static dashboards, charts, and reports to clearly communicate insights and trends to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Understand business requirements, gather feedback, and translate them into effective visual data solutions.
Build intuitive, accessible, and responsive UI components for dashboards and data visualization tools.
Use business acumen to interpret data, uncover key insights, and provide actionable recommendations to support decision-making.
Work closely with data engineers and analysts to validate data, ensuring that all visualizations are based on reliable, accurate data sources.
Collaborate with UI / UX designers to align visualizations with broader organizational standards.
Apply understanding of business models and objectives to develop visualizations that provide valuable insights aligned with organizational goals.

Requirements

Bachelor’s in Data Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Business Analytics, Data Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Analysis, Manpower Analysis, Operations Research, or related discipline may be acceptable.

Extensive experience with data visualizations (Excel, Tableau, Qlik, etc.).

Experience extracting, transforming, and loading data using SQL and relational databases.

Experience designing and delivering intuitive and visually appealing interfaces / dashboards for client tools and reports.

Ability to translate dense information into easily accessible and digestible visuals.

Experience in algorithm development using data science languages such as Python, R, etc.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Outstanding problem-solving ability.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Possess or be able to obtain an active Secret-level security clearance.

Desired Skills and Abilities :

User Experience / User Integration training.

Advana (Jupiter), and / or Qlik experience.
