Key Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering: Engage with stakeholders and subject matter experts to seek, gather, and analyze critical project information and data. Convert findings into detailed documentation that can be used by the development team.
- Documentation: Develop solid requirements documents with a meticulous attention to detail, capturing project needs and scope to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Communication: Facilitate clear and consistent communication with technical, non-technical, functional, management, and executive staff. Provide regular status updates to stakeholders and agency leadership.
- Collaboration: Work effectively within cross-functional teams, fostering a collaborative environment to achieve common goals. Lead group discussions to clarify and define project requests, needs, scope, and priorities.
- Project Tracking: Monitor software development life cycle (SDLC) activities, tracking progress against established metrics to ensure project success.
- Leadership: Take the initiative in developing and maintaining a collaborative approach among teams throughout the requirements gathering process.
- Business Analysis: At least 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in an enterprise-level software development environment, particularly within the public sector.
- Requirements Documentation: 5 years of experience in functional and technical requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation, with a strong emphasis on detail.
- Microsoft Suite: Proficiency with Microsoft Suite tools, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, MS Project, and SharePoint.
- Use Case Development: 4 years of experience developing use case documentation and user stories, leading to clearly defined and numbered project requirements.
- Facilitation & Presentation: 3 years of experience facilitating meetings, conducting requirements gathering sessions, and delivering presentations to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Project Status Reporting: 2 years of experience developing and presenting project status updates, including reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) for project success.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly express ideas and concepts that lead to positive outcomes.
- Texas Project Delivery Framework: At least 2 years of experience and knowledge of the Texas Project Delivery Framework.
- SDLC Knowledge: Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC) methodologies.
- DFPS Systems Knowledge: 1 year of strong working knowledge of DFPS systems/programs such as IMPACT, PACES, PEIRS, ABCS, NEICE, SSCC, Child Placement Portal, and Community-Based Care.
- Agile & Waterfall Methodologies: Experience with Agile project delivery frameworks, as well as Waterfall methodologies.
- Public Sector Experience: Prior experience with public sector clients, particularly in Texas or similar environments.
