Key Responsibilities
- Database Management: Oversee the performance, integrity, and security of Oracle databases, ensuring they are optimized for high availability and reliability.
- Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases, including versions 11g, 12c, 18c, and 19c, on Red Hat Linux platforms.
- Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage robust backup and recovery solutions using RMAN (Recovery Manager), ensuring data integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving issues to ensure efficient operations.
- Exadata Management: Manage Oracle Exadata systems, leveraging its advanced features for high-performance database environments.
- Cross-Platform Experience: Collaborate with teams managing databases beyond Oracle, particularly SQL Server and PostgreSQL, to ensure seamless integration and support.
- Scripting and Automation: Utilize Unix Shell scripting to automate routine tasks, improving efficiency and reducing manual intervention.
- Security Management: Implement Oracle Transparent Data Encryption to safeguard sensitive data, maintaining compliance with security protocols.
- Cloud Integration: Work with cloud-based database services, exploring opportunities to enhance database management using Azure data services.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all database management practices adhere to ITIL processes, SOX, and ICFR compliance requirements for critical financial systems.
- Experience: A minimum of 12 years of IT industry experience, with at least 7 years dedicated to Oracle DBA roles.
- Database Expertise: Proficiency in Oracle database management (versions 11g, 12c, 18c, 19c) on Red Hat Linux using ASM (Automatic Storage Management) and ext3 file systems is required.
- Cross-Platform Knowledge: At least 1 year of hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases is mandatory.
- Scripting Skills: Demonstrated experience in Unix Shell Scripting (minimum of 1 year).
- Data Security: Familiarity with Oracle Transparent Data Encryption is essential.
- RAC Experience: Extensive experience working with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) on the Red Hat Linux platform.
- Backup and Recovery: Strong knowledge of RMAN for backup and recovery processes.
- ITIL Knowledge: Relevant experience in ITIL processes for effective IT service management.
- Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of SOX and ICFR compliance standards applicable to financial systems.
