Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to assist in the preparation of customized medications, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with pharmacists to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient medication compounding and dispensing. This role requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to excellent patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and compound medications according to physician prescriptions, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and quality standards.
- Accurately label and package compounded medications for delivery to patients.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all compounded prescriptions.
- Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications and supplies.
- Ensure the compounding environment meets cleanliness and safety standards.
- Provide customer service by answering patient questions and addressing their concerns.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy team to ensure smooth daily operations and patient satisfaction.
- Assist in maintaining patient profiles, processing medication orders, and performing routine administrative duties.
- Follow all laws, regulations, and guidelines to ensure compliance with pharmacy practice standards.
Requirements:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) required (state-specific licensure may be necessary).
- Previous experience working in a compounding pharmacy is preferred.
- Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, drug classifications, and medication compounding techniques.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially in compounding and dispensing medications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients and colleagues.
- Proficiency with pharmacy management software and basic computer skills.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
