Barista

Job Overview: Steeps is seeking a friendly, efficient, and passionate Barista to join our coffee shop team. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and other beverages, delivering excellent customer service, and contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. You will play a key role in creating a memorable guest experience by preparing drinks to perfection, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring prompt service.

Duties

• Craft and serve espresso-based drinks, drip coffee, tea, smoothies, and other beverages, following standard recipes and customer specifications.
• Provide exceptional customer service by welcoming guests, taking orders, answering questions about the menu, and assisting with special requests.
• Utilize espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
• Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock supplies and assisting with ordering as needed.
• Prepare and serve light snacks, pastries, and other food items as per café offerings.
• Ensure the coffee bar, seating areas, and all café equipment are clean, organized, and well-maintained at all times.
• Process payments accurately, handle cash, and manage the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Work closely with fellow staff members to ensure a smooth workflow and maintain a positive atmosphere.
• Adhere to all food safety, health, and hygiene regulations to ensure a safe and clean environment for customers and staff.

Skills

• Previous barista or café experience is preferred, but not required; training will be provided.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to connect with guests from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent time management skills to efficiently juggle multiple tasks during busy periods.
• Knowledge of food safety practices to maintain a hygienic work environment.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Experience in a café or retail environment is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for coffee culture is essential.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
