Responsibilities

• Research and investigate news stories to provide accurate and timely reporting.
• Conduct interviews with sources to gather information and quotes for articles.
• Write clear, concise, and engaging articles that adhere to the publication's style guide.
• Edit and proofread content for accuracy, grammar, and style before publication.
• Collaborate with editors and other reporters to develop story ideas and coverage plans.
• Fact-check information to ensure credibility and reliability of published content.
• Utilize videography skills to create multimedia content when necessary.
• Stay updated on current events and trends relevant to assigned beats or topics.

Skills

• Strong journalism background with excellent writing skills.
• Proficiency in copy editing and proofreading to maintain high editorial standards.
• Ability to conduct thorough research and fact-checking for accuracy in reporting.
• Familiarity with style guides relevant to journalism (AP Style preferred).
• Bilingual capabilities are a plus for reaching diverse audiences.
• Experience in videography is advantageous for creating engaging visual content.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective storytelling.

Pay: $49,276.00 - $54,179.00 per year
