Job Overview
The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources department in delivering exceptional employee experiences at Hatley Pointe. This role involves assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth HR operations in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused environment. The HR Assistant will help foster a positive workplace culture that aligns with the resort’s values of service, collaboration, and excellence.
Duties
- Assist in the recruitment process, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
- Support talent management initiatives by maintaining employee records and assisting with onboarding processes.
- Conduct data entry and data collection for HR reporting and analytics.
- Maintain accurate employee records in the HR database, including personal information, performance reviews, and training records.
- Ensure compliance with all employment-related regulations, including proper documentation of work permits and certifications, as required for ski resort operations.
- Serve as a point of contact for employees, addressing questions about policies, benefits, and other HR-related topics.
- Help organize employee training sessions and development programs to promote continuous learning.
- Maintain open communication with employees to help foster a supportive and inclusive workplace.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee information while ensuring accurate documentation.
- Assist with payroll processing by collecting and verifying timekeeping data.
- Prepare reports and documentation for HR metrics, compliance audits, and management review.
- Partner with department managers to address staffing needs and coordinate employee schedules.
Skills
- Strong interviewing skills with the ability to assess candidate qualifications effectively.
- Experience in HR sourcing techniques to attract top talent.
- Knowledge of talent management strategies to support employee growth and retention.
- Familiarity with affirmative action planning processes and OSHA regulations is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping.
- Ability to collect and analyze data for reporting purposes effectively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality or HR support roles is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Hospitality Management, or related field preferred, but not required.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Knowledge of labor laws and hospitality industry standards is a plus.
