Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities has a new opening for Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to ensure quality nursing services for the persons served at our Mantua facility.
Opening:
- Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
- Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift, Monday – Friday. Night and weekend on-call required.
- Location: Nestled in northern Portage County, between Cleveland and Akron, is the Hattie Larlham Center for Children with Disabilities, a long-term intermediate care facility that provides medical services for 124 children and adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
What You’ll Do:
- Work collaboratively with nursing leadership, department staff, and the Medical Team.
- Supervise the Health Services Liaisons and the Nursing Office Coordinator.
- Partner with the Human Resources department on recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Manage the respite services program at the Center, when applicable, and the student nurse clinical rotation program.
- Serve as the liaison with local nursing schools to establish and maintain contracts for clinical nursing rotation, onboard students, curriculum development, and provide education to the students as needed.
- Mentor and coach the department staff offering support, encouragement, and recognition as appropriate.
- Develop and maintain medical supply inventory system to track quantities and place orders.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Educator to facilitate department onboarding of new staff.

Requirements:
- Ohio or multistate Registered Nurse licensure required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of nursing experience required.
- Knowledge and experience in nursing with children and adults with disabilities preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory and licensure requirements for ICF nursing preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification within first 30 days in role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Office365, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel required.
- Valid Ohio Driver’s License.
- Available to work full-time, 40 hours per week. On-call required.
