POSITION SUMMARY: The Hemodialysis Charge RN is responsible for managing the direct nursing care and Hemodialysis treatments on all patients assigned to the designated staff member within the chronic Hemodialysis Unit. The Charge Nurse is responsible for assigning staff to patients; management of designated staff members; assists as needed with patient care; serves in a professional manner with emphasis on quality care; and communicates the needs of the patients to the Nursing Supervisor and Nephrologists. The Charge RN will be responsible for the duties of the Hemodialysis RN job description.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum requirements include graduation from an accredited school of nursing; one year of dialysis experience preferred; current registration with the Mississippi Board of Nursing; ability to use a variety of physical motions in day-to-day activity including standing, turning, bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing; ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time without experiencing fatigue; flexible to role changes when assigned to function as staff RN, when necessary, to provide qualified, professional care during the hours of operation; ability to provide nursing care to patients and to handle/direct problems to the appropriate service; ability to accept responsibility; ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergency situations; delegates duties to assigned personnel; and has the ability to communicate in a professional manner with the Nephrologists, Administrator, Assistant Administrator, Clinical Director, Nursing Supervisor, and co-workers.
WORK SCHEDULE: Three 12 hour days per week
