DEPARTMENT : Administration / Human Resources
LOCATION : Primarily stationed at the Hattiesburg Visitors Center; but work requires travel to all Hattiesburg Convention Commission facilities (HCC) these include the Lake Terrace Convention Center, Saenger Theater, Sixth Street Museum District, the Hattiesburg Zoo and Serengeti Springs. Travel also may be required to conferences and seminars.
SHIFT : Full-time : Minimum 40 hours per week generally Monday-Friday.
SUMMARY : The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for accurately processing and managing the payroll function, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Payroll Specialist must have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of payroll processes. The candidate should also possess excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and address any payroll-related concerns promptly.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Maintains personnel files in compliance with applicable legal requirements.
- Processes payroll for all facilities.
- Reports all payroll taxes.
- Pays insurance premiums in accordance with payroll processing.
- Runs reports as necessary for payroll and audits.
- Maintains and reports all vacation, sick, and other PTO time employees accumulate.
- Assists with onboarding and preparation of the New Hire Orientation.
- Processes required paperwork for terminations.
- Maintains uniform inventory for all facilities.
- Prepares and issues uniforms during New Hire Orientation.
- Assists with various research projects and / or special projects.
- Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
- Run errands when needed; travel required
- Performs other HR duties as assigned.
- Occasionally assistance may be needed outside of the HR department. The culture in which we work promotes reasonable assistance in other departments when needed. This may include assistance during some night and weekend events.
