Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems, to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.
Pay – $25-$29/hour. $.75/hour 2nd shift premium.
Schedule – 2pm – 10:30pm, Monday-Friday. Schedule may flex with Production needs.
Benefits – Medical, dental and vision; STD, LTD and Life company paid; 401k with company match. Employee pays only 15% of medical cost at $19.11/week for Single and $57.33/week for Family coverage (2025 Rates). Company contributes HSA dollars annually of $1,000 for a Single and $2,000 for a Family.
Essential Job Functions:
  • Under limited supervision and with minimal technical guidance, keeps plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair.
  • Responsible to install all trade sizes of conduit required for electrical and instrumentation wiring, making sure it is right size and correct configuration for the application, this is including but not limited to: measuring and cutting, carrying, bending, threading and hanging in place.
  • Examines machines to diagnose trouble, dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines and makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
  • Pull wire for electrical or instrument requirements, making sure the wire is the correct size and proper number of conductors, including but not limited to: measuring, cutting carrying and lubricating as necessary.
  • Must be able to use hand tools such as, but not limited to, screw drivers, wrenches, sockets sets, pipe wrenches, hammers, and taps to install various electrical and instrument devices, at time’s requiring torque to make sure screws or connectors are tight using electrical and instrumentation specific tools, gauges and devices.
  • Install, replace or repair electric motors, from fractional to multiples of hundred horsepower, at times having to lift, push or pry to get motors in place or align them.
  • Conducts planned preventative, and predictive maintenance for equipment and machinery, and tools.
  • Reviews manufacturer's service manuals, and records of maintenance problems to determine optimum frequency of preventive maintenance (PM).
  • Utilizes computerized systems to input PM orders and track status and/or completion.
  • Performs advanced troubleshooting. Performs Root cause analysis. Must be able to trouble shoot electrical circuits to find problem and get equipment back on line.
  • Must be able to use tools such as, but not limited to, electric drills, surface grinders, hammer drills, all types of conduit benders, and wire pullers in the course of doing the job.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner, paying special attention to lock out tag out procedures.
  • Use computers and logic as troubleshooting devices.
  • Must exercise good housekeeping practices.
  • Must be a motivated self-starter who is adaptive to change.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work long/odd/unusual hours including weekends.
  • Must have own tools.
  • Regular attendance is required.

Position Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three (3) years process automation/equipment maintenance experience.
  • Journeyman Card or Masters License/equivalent experience.
  • Possess a valid Michigan Driver’s License.
  • Maintain license/certification through continuing education.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Above average Mechanical and Electrical diagnostic/troubleshooting.
  • Industrial, mechanical or maintenance background (i.e. electrical, machining or welding) and other related experience.
  • Must be able to program PLC’s and VFD’s.
  • Must be able to read electrical and instrumentation prints and understand ladder logic.
  • Have knowledge of networking and system boot-up.
  • General wiring/panel wiring/electronics experience.
  • Pneumatic/hydraulic experience.
  • Understand power grid and use of power transformers.
  • Demonstrate the knowledge of how to safely and effectively use the tools needed for maintenance and repairs.
  • Equipment overhaul/rebuild experience.
  • Some Fabrication experience.
  • Preventative and predictive maintenance experience.
  • Experience working with Industrial Electrical Voltages 240v/480v.
  • Ability to work with multiple pieces of technical equipment simultaneously, have attention to detail excellent communication skills and demonstrate trouble shooting abilities.
  • Must have computer experience.

  • Maintenance Technicians are frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl; and talk; or hear. The team member is occasionally required to sit. The team member must frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds
Work Schedule
  • The team member is expected to work during production hours which may include daily overtime and Saturday or Sunday production.
  • The team member is also expected to work on scheduled down production days to make needed repairs to equipment.
  • During our busy season, team members can work up to 7 days a week, 12 hours a day or more.
