Position Overview:
V&E Hospitality Group is seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Bar Back to join our team. The Bar Back plays a crucial role in supporting our bartenders and ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our customers. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about the hospitality industry and are eager to learn and grow within a dynamic organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Bartenders: Work closely with bartenders to ensure the efficient operation of the bar. Assist in preparing and garnishing drinks, maintaining bar cleanliness, and restocking supplies as needed.
- Stock Management: Keep track of bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and glassware. Ensure that the bar is always well-stocked to minimize disruptions during service.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized bar area. This includes regularly cleaning bar equipment, glassware, and workspaces. Dispose of waste and empty glassware promptly.
- Customer Service: Provide friendly and attentive service to customers. Assist in taking drink orders, delivering beverages, and clearing empty glassware from tables and the bar.
- Assist with Special Events: Participate in the setup and breakdown of special events and private parties, ensuring that the bar area is well-prepared and stocked for these occasions.
- Compliance: Adhere to all company and legal regulations regarding the service of alcohol. Verify the age of customers and refuse service to those who are underage or intoxicated.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with bartenders, servers, and other staff members to create a positive and efficient work environment. Be willing to assist in other areas of the establishment as needed.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Bar Back or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of basic drink preparation and bar equipment is a plus.
- Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Physical qualifications:
· Ability to move throughout the dining room effectively.
· Ability to lift and carry serving trays weighing up to 15lbs and bus tubs weighing up to 40 lbs.
· Ability to perform reaching and stooping motions.
